Hello my dear fellow spoonies,
Wow, suddenly everything is much more terrifying! I hope everyone is doing relatively okay without any Corona with Lyme or other new problems.
It’s not like social distancing was anything new. Many of our lives have been about doctor visits and food shopping and avoiding large gatherings for quite a while. In fact it’s a little weird having many of our unfortunate lifestyle requirements becoming the norm. A few months ago, I was considered a germaphobic hermit and now I am “prudent.” Here is a brilliant post about forced isolation by Seriously Sensitive to Pollution.
This second one is for everyone who takes a prescription that requires an authorization, that is compounded, or that is a controlled substance (I have one of each!). I started this cartoon prior to the coronapocalypse (drawing takes me forever because of the neverending arm issues), but I’m sure that waits for complicated prescriptions are now horribly worse, even if the doctor is not playing golf. A long time ago I wrote about my adventures with brand-name Neurontin and I also take compounded liothyronine sodium. And then of course there is Klonopin, which I would love to get rid of, but now is not the greatest time to cut the anti-anxiety meds.
If you are feeling extra-bored at home, please check out The Spoonie Awards, part 1 and part 2. And if you are in possession of lot of fragrance-free toilet paper because you are chemically sensitive and had previously stocked up, this is a toilet paper-buying shame-free zone. I have heard too much guilt-inducing crap (bad pun intended) about toilet paper. 💩 Face it, healthy people never lined up for the fragrance-free recycled. I have never come between anyone and synthetic perfumed floral Charmin.
Travel bidets are easy to use, if there are any left by the time this post goes out. There are a lot of brands on Amazon. Real bidets are obviously better, but if you are a renter like me you can’t renovate the bathroom. This brand of clip-on bidet was recommended to me for easier installation.
I hope everyone stays as healthy and possible! We will somehow get through this! 💚💚
Love and spoons, 🥄🥄
